Mission Statement
Equilibrium, a synonym for Balance, encompasses the core values of =LDP. In life and movement, there are always two opposite extremes and infinite possibilities in between them. Through =ibrium Dance Project, we can explore these possibilities through choreography and collaboration with other artists.
History
=ibrium Dance Project came to life in the summer of 2012. The founder, Sara Yanney-Chantanasombut, was re-staging some choreography and creating new pieces for video. The dancers were doing such wonderful work it quickly became clear there was enough material for a full length concert. In the middle of the rehearsal process, Sara went to the Bill Evans Teachers Intensive in Brockport, NY. While there, the Laban idea of balance and the concept that there are always two opposites with infinite possibilities in between them resonated with her. This was an idea that translated into dancing, creating, and every day life.
=ibrium’s first concert, Past\Five, showcased Sara’s work over the past five years and opened the door to the future. Since this first concert, =ibrium has performed both locally in Indiana and in New York and Michigan. We have featured guest artists including Katelin Ryan, Audra Sokol, Stephanie Sisco, and Richard F. Mosley II.
